Some of the trees at my work are being removed mainly due to their location in reference to the local airport. It was disturbing to watch these beautiful 80 year old cypress trees be cut down yesterday.
However, watching the one fellow being held and suppored by his truck bucket reminds me of how the Lord holds us with His right hand of righteousness.
When we read the controlled news which tends to scare us with outrageous stories of this evil world, we must not be distracted from the hope we have in the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for our sin, rose from the grave after three days and is coming back one day.
Yes, by the grace of God, He is able to keep us from falling because He's got the whole world in His hands!
Jude 1:17-25
"But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 ____ "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
