Pat Robertson's False Gospel

Pat Robertson's False Gospel
By David J. Stewart
Galatians 1:6-7, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.”
Pat Robertson's ministry is the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). On the main page of their website they ask the question, “Do You Know Jesus?” By clicking on the button, it takes you to another page that presents THEIR gospel. Sadly, it is a false gospel, and not what the Bible teaches.

The following is quoted from their website:
“We must trust Jesus Christ to forgive our sins and determine to obey Him for the rest of our lives. That way we can know God and find peace again.
The Bible says:

  • So you will be saved, if you honestly say, Jesus is Lord, and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death. God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this (Romans 10:9-10).
Is there any good reason why you cannot turn your life over to Jesus Christ right now?
How to give your life to Christ:
1. Admit you are a sinner and need forgiveness.
2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
3. Through prayer, confess that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and commit to live for Him for the rest of your life.”
SOURCE: Salvation Through Jesus Christ — Steps to Peace with God
Where does the Bible teach that a person must “determine to obey Him for the rest of our lives” to be saved? Where does the Bible teach that a sinner must “commit to live for Him for the rest of your life” to be born-again? That is self-righteousness! Pat Robertson is teaching the heresy of Lordship Salvation. This is the most popular and dangerous false doctrine in the world today, because it is a perverted gospel message which Satan has subtly brought into churches worldwide. It abandons the righteousness which is in Christ alone and requires a certain degree of self-righteousness, which is pure Catholicism. That's what the Catholics believe, i.e., that a person gets to Heaven by faith and works. The Bible teaches that we are saved by God's grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
Lordship Salvation is the consequential result of ecumenicals rubbing shoulders in an unholy alliance with Roman Catholics. Ecumenicals are unbelievers who falsely profess to be Christians, and work to unite the Catholic religion with genuine Biblical Christianity, which is impossible. It is called Ecumenism. Their followers are known as the Ecumenical Movement. Ecumenicalism is easily summed up as “sinful compromise.” In 2nd Corinthians 6:17 God commands believers . . . “Wherefore come out from among them, and BE YE SEPARATE, saith the Lord.”
The manmade traditions of Catholicism are diametrically opposed to the Bible. There is no agreement. As 2nd Corinthians 6:14 asks, “What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?” Only evil people try to unite Catholicism with Biblical Christianity. One of the biggest sins of our time is that more Christians fail to expose the evil Catholic religion, which is leading over one billion people into the Lake of Fire. So hear me out... the heresy of Lordship Salvation is akin to the faith and works philosophy of the damnable Catholic religion.
And to no surprise...

Pat Robertson Publicly and Sinfully Praised Pope John Paul II As a Man of “Deep Spirituality”

Pat Robertson Comments on Pope John Paul II's Passing

CBN.com — VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., April 02, 2005 — I am deeply grieved as a great man passes from this world to his much deserved eternal reward. John Paul II has been the most beloved religious leader of our age – far surpassing in popular admiration the leader of any faith.
He has been a man of great warmth, profound understanding, deep spirituality, and indefatigable vigor. It was my great honor to meet with him at the residence of my good friend, Cardinal O’Connor, in New York, and to sit in the Consistory during the mass he conducted in Central Park. I told him at the time how much the American people loved him, and he merely smiled. That love was shared not only in America but by millions all over the globe. -SOURCE
According to Pat Robertson, the Pope is a man of “deep spirituality.” You've got to be kidding Mr. Robertson. And you call yourself a “Christian”? The Pope is the leader of the biggest false religion in the world, Catholicism! For Robertson to speak such gleaming words of praise towards such a Satanic imposter as the Pope, reveals that Robertson is in league with the Devil himself. No born again Christian who loves the Lord would ever praise the Pope, who is leading one billion people straight into Hell. The Pope is a man of deep wickedness. Pat Robertson praises the Pope because he'd be off TV very fast if he criticized the Pope. Satan uses man's love of money to control the world. Pat Robertson has sold out to Satan!
Pat Robertson said, “The time has come when we must lay aside minor points of doctrinal differences and focus on the centralization of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. That is apostasy. Pat Robertson is a deceiver. What he refers to as “minor points of doctrinal differences” is his way of accepting the demonic Catholic religion. You'll never hear Pat Robertson saying that the Catholic Church is of the Devil. It's because Pat Robertson is of the Devil too.

Lordship Salvation Verses the Word of God
Lordship Salvation is the teaching that a lost sinner must not only acknowledge their guilt of sin to be saved, but they must also be willing to stop living a sinful lifestyle and consecrate their life to Christ in holy living. Surrendering one's life to Christ as part of saving-faith is an act of self-righteousness! A person doesn't give up their sinful lifestyle to get saved; they give up their sinful lifestyle because they are saved. And of course, many believers never grow in the Lord to the point where they consecrate their life to God. Samson was a carnal believer. Judges 16:1, “Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot (prostitute), and went in unto her.” This was God's man whom the people looked up to for spiritual guidance! I'm not condoning living in sin, not at all, I'm just saying that many believers choose to continue living in sin and it has nothing to do with their salvation. Eternal life is a free gift from God, paid for by Jesus' precious blood (Romans 5:15; 6:23; 1st Peter 1:18,19).
Lordship Salvation is a dangerous heresy, because it seems logical. It is reasonable to think that a person should be required to live for God, depart from sinful living and commit to pleasing God with one's life in order to get to Heaven; BUT that's NOT what the Bible teaches. As reasonable as Lordship Salvation may seem, it is 100% contrary to the Scriptures. The issue is not what seems reasonable, nor what appeals to the self-righteous hypocrites of our time; but rather, what does God teach us in His holy Word? There is NO controversy if you believe the Bible. Pat Robertson is wrong. He is requiring lost sinners to “commit to live for Him for the rest of your life.”1 That is not taught in the Scriptures.
Choosing to live a consecrated life for God is a BIG DECISION that a new believer is not likely to make until they've grown in the Lord for some period of time, usually years. Most believers gradually change over time, as the Spirit of God deals with their heart, step-by-step. Lordship Salvationists require a complete lifestyle change as part of saving-faith—breaking off old sinful habits, breaking sinful ties with old friends, going to different places, dressing differently, talking differently, acting differently, et cetera. That's a gigantic burden to place upon a sinner's shoulder in order to get saved!
Certainly, becoming a Christian is the first step to a changed life; but that change comes from the Holy Spirit of God working in our heart day-by-day as we grow in the Lord. 1st Peter 2:2, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may GROW thereby.” The change that occurs in the life of a new believer is Jesus Christ. But the Lord wants to make the changes in our life as we grow closer to Him through the Scriptures; He doesn't require us to clean up our life in order to be saved. The idea that a person must surrender their life to God to be saved is very, very unbiblical. Salvation in itself DOESN'T change a person one bit. It just means that now that person has the Spirit of God living within them. Amen! A changed life is the FRUIT, or the result, of genuine saving-faith; and not a part of it. Lordship Salvationists have it all backwards. They require a changed life as part of saving-faith; but that's not how salvation works. Salvation is solely of God, paid for by the precious Lamb of God. Our part is only to BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 16:31). God does all the rest.
The Catholics are deceived by the same type of mentality as those who believe Lordship Salvation. It seems logical that if a person's good works outweigh their bad works that God would let them into Heaven; but that is NOT what the Bible teaches. It seems logical that if a person is sincere and puts forth their best effort to live a good life, help others and turn over a new leaf that God would let them into Heaven; BUT that is NOT Biblical at all. Proverb 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” I tell you assuredly friend, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Pat Robertson's CBN Teaches a False Gospel
Pat Robertson promotes Kirk Cameron on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). Birds-of-a-feather flock together. These men are all Lordship Salvationists, teaching the same concept of being born-again as the Catholic religion does. Here is the false plan of salvation that is taught on CBN's website...
“We must trust Jesus Christ to forgive our sins and determine to obey Him for the rest of our lives. That way we can know God and find peace again.”
SOURCE: http://www.cbn.com/stepstopeace/index.aspx?intcmp=EVAN0003
Nowhere in the Bible are we taught that a sinner must “determine to obey him for the rest of our lives” to be saved. Pat Robertson teaches that a person must give their life over to Jesus Christ to be saved. Pat Robertson is teaching a false gospel. Eternal life is a free gift that you freely receive by faith in the Christ, the Son of God, Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
CBN sells products by Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Mary Beth Chapman... it is tragic! It is apostasy! Creflo Dollar lives in a $1,000,000 mansion on 27 acres of land, flying all over the U.S. in a $5,000,000 personal jet, living extravagantly. Creflo speaks in demonic tongues, teaches a bunch of Charismatic heresies, and preaches a false prosperity gospel which 1st Timothy 6:5 says, “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.” Pat Robertson and his too Club are big-time offenders, basing their entire hellish ministry on a health, wealth and prosperity false gospel... teaching that GAIN IS GODLINESS!
Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort hobnob with all these apostates, dipping their sails in Ecumenical compromise. They go around condemning everything who only has fail in Christ, but hasn't forsaken all to follow Jesus (which is a false gospel); yet they themselves are reprobate compromisers, soft on sin, silent about false religion, and more hateful of conflict than they are of evil. They're making a living, period. The Apostle Paul preached the truth and ended up poor, very poor.
Every apostate today is sticking together. Joel Osteen, Ray Comfort, Pat Robertson, Max Lucado, Kirk Cameron, Creflo Dollar, Paul and Jan Crouch, John MacArthur... they all scratch each other's back. I'm using the sandpaper of God's Word on their teachings and it hurts, which is why I am so hated. Galatians 4:16, “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” I love everyone, which is why I do what I do for nothing. I've never made a penny and never will. This is a labor of love.

The Devil is a Beautiful Liar
The Gospel is the most delicate thing in the universe; It is so easily corrupted and destroyed. This is why God repeatedly warns us in the Scriptures about false prophets. In Matthew 7:15 Jesus warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” The Apostle Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, warns us in 2nd Corinthians 11:3, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ.” It is the very simplicity of the Gospel that makes It so prone to tampering and corruption.
One of my favorite Scriptures in the Bible is Romans 4:5, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him (Jesus) that justifieth the ungodly (you and me), his faith is counted for righteousness.” What a precious Bible verse! Works of righteousness are NOT required for salvation, because our faith is COUNTED for righteousness. This is the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, i.e., His righteousness is charged to our account via faith in the Son of God. In Genesis 15:6 we read concerning Abram (who was later named Abraham by God), “And he believed in the LORD; and He counted it to him for righteousness.” Amen!

Salvation is Without Works of Self-righteousness
And again in Romans 4:6 we are told, “Even as David (king David in the Old Testament) also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God IMPUTETH righteousness without works.” I love that Biblical word, “imputeth.” That one word exposes the doctrine of Lordship Salvation as a fraud, a false gospel and as damnable heresy. The word “impute” simply means that God the Father places the righteousness of His dear Son, Jesus, onto our record in Heaven the moment we trust Him to forgive our sins. We are once and forever saved. Jesus took our sins upon Himself, and placed His righteousness upon us. This is exactly what 2nd Corinthians 5:21 means, “For He (God the Father) hath made Him (God the Son) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” What a wonderful Savior! Jesus, the precious and sinless Lamb of God, became as sin in our place, so that we could be made the righteousness of God in Christ.
This is why we are commanded in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; and all these things shall be added unto you.” We need HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS to get to Heaven. Where do Lordship Salvationists get the foolish idea that God requires sinners to stop living in sin, clean up their life, commit to obeying God the rest of their life, et cetera, to be saved? This false doctrine has it's roots in self-righteousness, which is Catholic in nature.
Furthermore, the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible is a Catholic Bible. The owner of the exclusive printing rights to the NIV, Rupert Murdoch, was just made a Knight by the Pope. Starting to get the picture? The originators (Westcott and Hort) of the corrupt Greek manuscripts from which the NIV, the Jehovah's Witness New World Translation, and all other modern perversions of the Scriptures come, were pro-Catholics. Pat Robertson and CBN teach the lie of Lordship Salvation, which is an ecumenicalist's dream come true. Churches all across the world are teaching that faith AND WORKS are required for salvation. That is what Lordship Salvation requires... WORKS!!!
May we be diligent in these woeful times of apostasy to contend for the Biblical faith. Salvation is simple—we are SINNERS and Jesus is the precious SAVIOR.
I think Pastor Harry Ironside (1876-1951) said it best . . .
“The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past …
Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.”
