Storms rolled across the outskirts of Lakeland on a recent Thursday afternoon, and lightning menaced the people starting to gather next to Sun 'n Fun Air Museum. But still they streamed into two giant conjoined white tents, each almost a football field in size, which were untroubled by the turbulence.

Storms of another kind - doubts about claims of healings and criticism of his teachings and techniques - have not troubled Canadian evangelist Todd Bentley and the leaders of the Florida Outpouring revival, which continues on, now in its 82nd consecutive day. The revival seems set to meet in the tents at Sun 'n Fun for the indefinite future, even though some national and local Pentecostal leaders are wary of giving approval to it.

Bentley shrugged off the criticisms.

"We're preaching and teaching the gospel and praying and healing the sick," he said in an interview just before the recent service began. "Jesus said a tree is known by its fruit. What's the fruit we've produced? Thousands are coming to praise God."

The Pentecostal revival, which began April 2 at Ignited Church in Lakeland, draws an average of 30,000 or more people each week, according to its leaders, with about 50 percent of those from outside the state. In fact, it has become an international phenomenon, and almost a third of the crowds come from outside the United States, leaders estimate. At this particular evening service, flags from eight nations waved above the crowd, which numbered at least 4,000.

Bentley has been interviewed by MSNBC and Geraldo Rivera, and a "Nightline" segment is in the works. Several overseas news organizations have sent reporters to file stories about the revival and its flamboyant leader.Tattoos, lip studsBentley, 32, runs Fresh Fire Ministries, an independent organization based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. He presents an unusual figure with his many tattoos and jeweled lip studs. A self-professed fan of professional wrestling, he is prone to giving gentle shoves or kicks and shouting "Bam!" as he touches people to "impart" the Holy Spirit to them. His antics have alarmed some, such as J. Lee Grady, editor of Charisma, a magazine for Pentecostals, who editorialized against those methods last week. But the crowds clearly love it.

The tents are hardly the steamy gathering place of 19th-century revivals. These are taut, erected on heavy aluminum beams over carpeted platforms, with huge vents blowing cool air inside and a high-tech sound and lighting system. By 7:45 p.m., the crowd is jumping up and down to deafening Christian rock music, singing, "We are the victorious generation." Even after the music has died down, the crowd takes over, chanting, "Jesus! Jesus!"

Bob and Hilkka Mounder traveled from Sheffield, England, last week to attend the revival. They have an affinity for Bentley, having met at a meeting he was conducting some years ago in England. They heard good and bad reports about the Florida Outpouring and decided to come see for themselves.

"Todd is rather special to us. We've really experienced God's presence at his meetings," Bob Mounder said. "I'm 20 years older, I know lots more about the Bible than he does, yet there's something about him. He's got something I haven't got."

The revival may have few precedents for its length coupled with the explosiveness of its popularity, which observers say has been fueled by the Internet, over which the services are streamed live twice a day (see box). But that has not stopped controversies about Bentley and the events transpiring on the stage of the revival, including the claim that because of prayers offered on their behalf, at least 25 people have been raised from the dead.

Faith healing has been a major focus of the revival. Each night, people with a wide range of serious medical conditions flock to the tents, with only a portion admitted on stage. Bentley says he has four assistants verifying whether people have been cured miraculously, and they are compiling a catalog.resurrection claimsWhile faith healing is a part of the Pentecostal tradition, the claims of resurrections have raised eyebrows. No dead bodies have been brought into the revival. Rather, reports of the recent death of a loved one - in some cases located long distances away - are relayed to the stage by e-mail or cell phone, and Bentley has led prayers for the person to be revived.

"We do our best to find out the situation. In one case, a boy drowned in a pool. He had no pulse, wasn't breathing and was clinically brain dead," he said.

The revival has its share of critics. Bloggers such as Andrew Strom have said Bentley does not talk enough about Christ and focuses too much on the "spiritual gifts" of faith healing, prophecies and private supernatural encounters with angels or glimpses of heaven.

One local Pentecostal pastor who attended the revival said he came away "uncomfortable."

"I saw a lot of passion from (Bentley), but there was too much hype. I just don't feel I can endorse something that's being exaggerated," said Reggie Scarborough, pastor of Family Worship Center in Lakeland, a charismatic congregation that frequently practices faith healing. "We hear about the dead being raised, but we don't know who they are or where they are."

Last week, the Assemblies of God, the largest predominantly white Pentecostal fellowship in the country, claiming 2.8 million adherents, issued a statement about revivals that, while not targeting the Florida Outpouring specifically, seems to caution people about it.

For example, one guideline warns against Christians being "overly enamored with charismatic manifestations." The statement goes on: "Miraculous manifestations are never the test of a true revival - fidelity to God's Word is the test. Jesus Himself said there would be many who would do miracles in His name and even cast out demons, but He does not know them."

Reached by phone from Springfield, Mo., the Rev. George Wood, general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, said the guidelines are intended to instruct church members about any revival but his office had received a number of queries about the Florida Outpouring. angel messagesWood, who said he had watched YouTube video clips of the revival, said one concern related to a claim Bentley has made in the past about encounters with angels named Emma and Wind of Change, from whom he received messages.

"I'm concerned anytime someone reports to have special revelations from angels or a deceased person like the apostle Paul. That sort of information is not in the Bible," he said. "We need to make sure there is adherence to Scripture in any spiritual movement."

The Rev. Stephen Strader, pastor of Ignited Church, who invited Bentley to Lakeland, is a minister in the Assemblies of God, and his church is part of the Peninsular Florida District of the Assemblies. He said he agreed with Wood and the statement from the Assemblies headquarters.

"We have the exact same concerns. We watch over everything. Everything that happens on the platform is scriptural," he said. Strader and Bentley say there has been very little talk about angels at the Florida Outpouring.

"Emma has never been part of this outpouring. It was an experience Todd had seven years ago, and it's been totally blown out of proportion," Strader said. "The nightly message has been totally 100 percent nothing but Jesus. People looking for a problem or a heresy, they're going to find it."

Bentley said he doesn't understand the controversy.

"I'm not having weekly or daily experiences of angels. I believe they're present at every service. I have felt them, but this revival hasn't focused on angels at all," he said.

Strader acknowledged there have been some missteps and that the leaders have made "a small amount of adjustments." They no longer say people have been healed, only that people are "claiming to be healed," he said. In one case, there was a hoax.

"Someone claimed to have a friend raised from the dead. We followed up, and it turned out he didn't," he said. "We're correcting things like that."

The superintendent of the Peninsular Florida District, the Rev. Terry Raburn, said district leaders have taken no official position on the Florida Outpouring, but Raburn sounded a cautionary note similar to Wood's.

"In a spiritually charged atmosphere, there is the possibility of excesses - astral travel, out-of-body experiences, healings that can't be verified," he said. "Half the people calling our office want me to shut it down, which I would not be inclined to do even if I could. I have no authority over (Bentley). The other half feel I haven't given it proper promotion and want to adopt it as an Assemblies of God project, which I can't do," Raburn said.

Raburn said his schedule has prevented him from attending the revival, but another prominent local Pentecostal leader said he is not sure he will attend. The Rev. Wayne Blackburn, an Assemblies of God district official and pastor of Victory Church in Lakeland, said he has concerns about the emotional level of the services, which often reach fever pitch.

"At these revivals, you're going to have emotional manifestations that are just not scriptural," he said.

Blackburn said there seems to be a difference between the Florida Outpouring and an extended revival at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola in the mid-1990s.

"From what I understand, these services are different because at Brownsville, every night someone preached about the Lord Jesus Christ. It's amazing that this one is called a healing revival. That's the focus," he said.

But Strader insisted that the revival has been genuine.

"What's happening at the meetings is the manifested presence of God has come to Earth to reveal his glory and power, that's all. People are saved, people are healed and Jesus is being glorified," he said. "Even some of my so-called friends are questioning my integrity, but they never come to the services. It's not fair just to watch it on TV."

Bob and Hilkka Mounder said they are convinced the revival is genuine.

"The main thing for people who have been here is they've really fallen in love with Jesus. My interest is not so much manifestations, although if they happen that's fine," Hilkka Mounder said. "I know quite a few people for whom the hunger for God is increasing."

Subject: could weather tampering have played a part in the 800-some fires in CA?

Dear Mr. Adachi:

I was wondering if HAARP or weather tampering could have caused that "unprecidented dry lightning storm" that touched off some 800 fires in California and (according to the news) in the San Francisco bay area, there's 200 fires that are raging out of control and completely unattended.

I understand weather has its dips and spikes and can be sporatic and CA is prone to drought and fires anyway, but could weather tampering have played a part here this time? Granted, we're known to get some pretty bad fires (especially if the forests haven't been thinned out and the underbrush cleared out and we've had drought), but this does seem to be way over the top.

I'm also suspicious of all the flooding in the midwest.

Sincerely,

Ms. Roxan

***

Hello Roxan,

The "wild" fires which occurred in southern California in late October of 2007 --all of them--were intentionally set by government sponsored agents, Whether it was CIA, or Mossad, or military, etc. I don't know, but I do know the fires were set by arsonists and the cover story of "downed power lines" was utterly bogus and fabricated. The fires were started to create the pretext for an "emergency response" and legitimize the event as a "crisis"-which brings federal money--and, in turn, federal control strings. They created the fires in order to justify spending more money for fire fighting equipment, more firefighting planes, more jobs, more emergency response teams, more flood control expansion, more appropriations of a host of "emergency requirements".

Starting fires in areas which have been intentionally dried out by engineered droughts is not new and not just limited to California. A few years back, we had torch jobs in adjoining states in order to accomplish hidden political, black op agendas.

ZS Livingstone wrote a few articles some years ago about the Tesla technology which our manipulators employ to cause the eruption of forest fires by literally hurling lightning balls at chosen locations

If you were to carefully study the incidents of wild fires in California over the past 60 years let's say, you would see that the cluster of fires in the last decade, for example, are all out of statistical proportion to the norm for this area. Why? Because government Black Ops weren't intentionally starting fires in past decades.

Chemtrails work in league with HAARP and special weapon satellites to cause all kinds of weather anomalies, including droughts.

There is no way we would have over 1000 tornadoes, many of them intense and very destructive, in the USA in the span of six months. No way on earth. Look through the weather historical records for the past 100 years and you will see nothing even close to these statistics. These killer tornadoes are being CREATED by government technology, just as the Hurricanes of 2005 were created by the government. The Dec. 2004 Tsunami in the Pacific that killed so many was artificially created, probably by undersea nuclear detonation. The China Sichuan earthquake was artificially created

The torrential rains in the midwest, I believe, are more the work of Sylphs to sabotage the chemtrail poisoning operations and to detoxify the ground of chemtrail pollutants and metals. I'm sure there are other reasons which I'm not aware of, but I agree with ZS Livingstone and others, that it's likely the Sylphs bringing the rain.

It's a Universal Law: For every negative action, there is an equal and OPPOSITE positive reaction. It can't be any other way. The more reckless and destructive they get, the more will be the push-back in the positive direction.

Haven't you notice just how REMARKABLY clear and blue the skies have been of late? The Sylphs are showing up in huge armadas and transmuting chemtrails FASTER than the chem planes can lay down the chemtrails! This isn't happening everywhere, but it's happening in areas that have orgone generators OR people with focused intent to clear up the sky of chemtrails. .I plan to post many photos showing how well the Sylphs are clearing the skies of late. It's almost a miracle.

Regards, Ken

CALIFORNIA ASKS 'BUSH' TO DECLARE FIRE EMERGENCY-

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has asked President George W. Bush to declare a state of emergency as fires continue to burn throughout California.

State fire officials said lightning strikes last weekend sparked 1,000 blazes across Northern California that so far have burned 302 square miles. More lightning storms are expected this weekend.

Schwarzenegger is requesting direct federal assistance. That would include air and ground firefighting crews, debris removal, and help evacuating and sheltering residents and animals.

Fire crews from 41 states have arrived to help California firefighters battle hundreds of blazes that are darkening skies over the Central Valley and San Francisco Bay area, reported KCRA-TV in Sacramento.

Schwarzenegger Won't Order Fireworks Ban

Schwarzenegger on Friday said that he does not plan on ordering a statewide ban of fireworks, reported KCRA-TV.

"Public safety is my top priority, and I want all Californians to enjoy the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, but also to celebrate it safely. I do not plan to order a statewide ban of fireworks, but I do encourage fire-affected counties to take a good look at their resources and take the appropriate steps at the local level, including a fireworks ban if necessary, to protect their communities and prevent any further aggravation of our state's already severe fire situation," Schwarzenegger said in a statement.

Meanwhile, another day of smoke-filled skies prompted advice from air-quality officials that people cancel or postpone outdoor activities.

"We acknowledge cancellation of these programs can be a hardship for all participants, and we appreciate those who have taken the step to put the health of their participants ahead of other considerations during this extended period of unhealthy air quality," Sacramento County Health Officer Glennah Trochet said.

The threat of fire has already led communities across Northern California to nix plans for Fourth of July fireworks displays.

Subject: N. Calif. "wildfires"

Hi, Ken:

Not long ago, a mainstream article entitled "California Braces for Fire Season" ran in Yahoo! I immediately interpreted it as part of a ploy; a coordinated effort on the part of the global elite. They have an immense passion for playing with words and creating double meanings via the mainstream media, after all.

Shortly afterwards, 800 fires are suddenly burning out of control and choking the air here in N. Calif. Coincidence? I think not. I attempted to confirm my suspicions through internet research, and I managed to find your posted response to an inquiry about the cause. I completely agree that most of these blazes are 100% premeditated, with dry land prepared by HAARP-induced droughts over past "non-rain" season. I keep hearing about dry lightning strikes, although I'm yet to see any. As far as nature goes during summer in the Golden State, it seems irrational that natural dry lightning could possibly have created the current extent of blazes. I anticipate any such phenomenon is created by the HAARP system.

I'm concerned the foul air may persist for weeks. The prevailing winds are not dissipating the smoke. Response to the fires will be deliberately inadequate. Currently, I work in Benecia where the air quality has been made atrocious by the fires. I can't do any physical activity in this area as my lungs and sinuses can't manage well. It's presently better in the South Bay; hopefully I can find some relief there this weekend.

Regards,
J. Stearns

Subject: California Fires

Dear Ken,

My name is Keith Howe and I live in San Jose. I read the article on Weather Tampering and California "Wild" Fires and agree that these fires are being set. They are strategically spaced to ensure that the smoke from them covers as large a population as possible. I also believe that toxic chemicals, in addition to, or in lieu of flame retardants, are being dumped on the fires. This has the same effect as a chemical bomb, but few people would suspect that anyone would do something so “horrific”.

The chemicals become more toxic when burned and remain airborne much longer when attached to the smoke particles, thus increasing its deadly effectiveness. They did this last year also with fires igniting within 40 minutes of each other, one near Sacramento and one near San Jose. The William Henry Coe Fire , I believe. There was also seismic activity in the 2.0 range at that time, as I checked the USGS to see if the mushroom cloud coincided with seismic activity. Furthermore, the seismic activity was rectangular as occurs with an undergound detonation as opposed to a slow increasing, spike followed by a similar decline.

There was also a mushroom cloud that rose up out of the smoke on about the third day which I videotaped. I suspect that was an undergorund nuke set off by Lawrence livermore labs as I pointed it out to observers and asked them what they see and they respond ‘it looks like a bomb went off’. Very clever way to murder populations while they actually think they are being helped.

When the Bonnie Dune fire in the Santa Cruz mountains was burning, I noticed what looked like a small gasoline truck headed in the general direction of Moffett Federal Airbase. It was marked “Evergreen Environmental Services” on the truck, so I did a google search and found it to be a toxic waste disposal company!

Later that evening I saw on TV news a fenced in area where various helicopters were landing to reload with “flame retardants” to allegedly fight the fire with. There were several of the same looking tankers in that fenced in area with the helicopters. Just seems like another method of genocide being used. Also probably clearing humans off the land for Agenda 21.

Another tactic being used is C130 transports flying 3-4 circles at very low altitude while they dump thousands of gallons of whatever out the engines before they land at Moffett Airfield. If it is JP8 fuel, it is full of ethylene dibromide, a banned pesticide and extreme carcinogen. It could be just about anything, and should be stopped immediately.

Also the bogus West Nile Virus spraying and light Brown Apple moth are excuses for human experimentation (HR1119, section 1078, at:
commdocs.house.gov/reports/105/h1119.pdf (go to pages 703 through 706 of document for section 1078, Human Experimentation )

There are two verses in Isaiah referring to the Latter days “when towers falling, terrorism, and “THE DAY OF THE GREAT SLAUGHTER” are referred to. It appears the Twin Towers are the reference point in time, and this is “The Day of Great Slaughter”.

Isaiah 30:25
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

Isaiah 33:18
Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

Israel Prodding U.S. To Attack Iran

Can We Give and Receive God's Glory?

For those of you who have been paying attention, you know that on June 8, 2008, Jesus was supposed to show up on stage at the Lakeland meeting with Bentley according to Wendy Alec's 'prophetic word' read by Bentley.

However, it never happened.

Surprised? Me neither.

Anyway, what did happen on June 8 is that Bentley wrote "Lifting Jesus High! Bringing Biblical Light to Your Questions about Lakeland Outpouring & Todd Bentley" on his website.

And at the end of Bentley's letter to us, he added a link to download an email he received from Greg S. Greig called, "Biblical Reasons to Receive God's Glory and Give it Away in Power Evangelism".

James Jacob Prasch wrote a review of Greig's article & here is a bit of it:
"Gary S. Greig is nothing more than more of the same. He is the next crony for the spirit of error that has resided in the character of his would-be academic predecessors. Their efforts have become nothing more than a sorry saga of serial stupidity in a debunked charade masquerading as charismatic/Pentecostal Christianity. Lakeland is not biblically charismatic, not biblically Pentecostal, and not biblically Christian. Neither is Gary S. Greig’s "scholarly" defense of what cannot be either biblically or even rationally defended. " (source)

So with all this talk about receiving the Glory of God, my question is aren't we supposed to GIVE GLORY TO GOD rather than receive it for ourselves? Do we have the right (much less the ability) to receive and give to others the glory of God??

False Prophets Commission False Prophet

"While Peter Wagner, Bill Johnson, John Arnott, and Che Ahn are free to commission Todd Bentley anything they desire, it doesn't change the fact that Bentley is a false teacher and false healer; nor does it change the fact that the Florida revival is overshadowed by demonic activity and is extremely dangerous to the physical and spiritual welfare of the believer, as well as those searching for the real Jesus Christ." Wendy Alec: Prophet of God?

"False prophets present a clear and present danger to the spiritual welfare of the believer, as well as those searching for the real Jesus Christ. God's word judged Wendy Alec a false prophet well before her "prophetic word" was put into print and read by Bentley. And Christians' worldwide would do well to heed God's commands and avoid Wendy Alec, Todd Bentley, God TV, and the Florida Outpouring/Lakeland revival at all costs." Bud Press

A Church on Fire

The following 5 minute video clip was difficult for me to watch. It was put on youtube just today and one of the comments provoked me to respond:

"This is what makes non-christians and agnostics like me very angry, bitter and resentful towards christian beliefs and the christian God. We dont want to be subject to this so-called move of the holy spirit, although according to christian teachings of the bible, it is absolutely against anything that the Deity would condone. But we also do not like that God will send people error when they wish to receive truth."

That broke my heart and I am grieved as I was very much apart of this type of 'ministry' for 10 years. Here is my reply:

"This is a tragic clip. I'm a Christian who was in the middle of something similar to this video: the Brownsville 'revival' and the FIRE ministry mess. However, while a missionary living in Berlin, Germany, my eyes were opened and in 2005, I came out of this cult & am now warning others. The Lord Jesus Christ says "Let no man deceive you", so we have no one to blame but ourselves if we follow false teachers. Please don't blame God for Satan's handiwork among the wolves in sheep's clothing."

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, please forgive me for following, supporting and endorsing ANYTHING that is not of You and not in the Bible - I am so sorry!! Please restore anyone that I may have misled and please bring them to the TRUTH I beg of You, Lord. And if there is anything else I am believing that is not the truth, please expose it and remove it from me I ask. This is quite painful to realize I have allowed myself to be deceived. Thank You, heavenly Father, for hearing this prayer in Jesus name - amen!

MATTHEW 3 - John the Baptist rebukes the Pharisees and Sadducees:
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Is Jesus Christ God?

The short answer: yes.

2 Corinthians 12

1It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

5Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.

7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

11I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

12Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

13For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.

14Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

15And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

16But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

17Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?

18I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?

19Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

20For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
