"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 ____ "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
PRAY FOR HAITI!
Today, disaster relief operations are underway in Haiti where 700+ people were killed and 1,000+ are missing in flooding spawned by Tropical Storm Jeanne. Sadly, an estimated 160,000+ Haitians have been left homeless. In April 2003, then president Jean-Bertrand Aristide sanctioned voodoo as an officially recognized religion. I believe there is a MAJOR connection between this demonic religion and the disaster there. What is voodoo? A typical voodoo service begins with a Roman Catholic prayer followed by syncopated druming with attendees dancing around a tree in the center of the yard, moving faster and harder with the rising pulse of the beat. Then a priest draws symbols in the dust with cornmeal and rum is poured on the ground to honor the demonic spirits. A woman dancer may fall to the ground convulsing for a moment, then is helped back to her feet. She resumes the dance, moving differently now, and continues dancing for hours. It is no longer she who is dancing: she is in a trance possessed by Erzuli the great demonic mother spirit. The Haitians consider it an honor to be entered and "ridden" by a Loa or a spirit/demon. In Haiti these rituals are commonplace and voodoo is the dominant religion - an estimated 60 million people practice voodoo worldwide. LORD JESUS, COME IN POWER, EXPOSE THE LIES OF VOODOO, AND SET THESE PEOPLE FREE FROM THEIR BONDAGE WE PRAY!
Over the years my opinions have changed but this will never change: Jesus Christ, Lord, God and Savior, died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay for my sin.
