John's Letters

John and his brother James along with Peter and Andrew were all fishing partners before they became disciples of Jesus.

According to Fox's Book of Martyrs, during the Second Persecution under Domitian in A.D. 81, John was boiled in oil and then exiled to the island of Patmos. There, John wrote the book of Revelation of Jesus Christ.

After being released from exile, John returned to Ephesus and started churches all throughout Asia until he was old. During his life, John also wrote the Gospel of John and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd letters of John.
