ENJOYING GOD by SJ Hill (his website)
While at Bible school in Pensacola, SJ was one of my instructors and this morning I wrote him the following email:
Hey Steve and Pam,
Just wanted to tell you about a young German friend of ours here in Berlin - her name is Joanna. She is very hungry for the things of God and recently she borrowed your book "Enjoying God" and eagerly devoured every word! She so totally enjoyed it that she told us yesterday she rode her bike all over Berlin to find an inexpensive copy shop and yes, she copied EVERY page of your book! When I mentioned that we had tried to get the book printed in German but without success, she said, "Oh I like it in English because it helps me better learn the language!!" So when did you say you coming to Berlin?? Enquiring minds want to know! We are praying for the Lord to bring both you and Jason Upton here - Berlin and all of Europe for that matter DESPERATELY needs the message of the Father's heart. Germany has been called "The Fatherland" but now it is like "The Fatherlessland" for various reasons. In fact yesterday, I just read an article (click here) that said Germans for the most part do not want to have babies so now their population is decreasing. It is so sad - I talked to an 8 year old girl the other day who did not believe in God! I was shocked that a child so young could already be an atheist. There is great depression and hopelessness in the land, even in the church as well. Our only hope is JESUS! This past month I personally have been going through major struggles but this morning the Lord encouraged me with this passage from Habakkuk 3: "Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains."
HALLELUJAH AND THANK YOU JESUS!!
One more thing, how much would it cost to get a box of your book sent here so we can pass them out?

Während ich in der Bibelschule in Pensecola war, war S.J. einer meiner Ausbilder und heute morgen schrieb ich ihm die folgende E-mail:
Halle Steve und Pam,
Ich wollte euch von einer jungen deutschen Freundin von uns hier in Berlin erzählen - ihr Name ist Johanna. Sie ist sehr hungrig nach den Dingen Gottes und neulich leihte sie sich Dein Buch "Gott geniessen" aus und verschlang jedes Wort! Sie hat es so sehr genossen, daß sie uns gestern erzählte, daß sie mit ihrem Fahrrad durch ganz Berlin gefahren ist, um einen billigen Kopierladen zu finden und ja, sie kopierte JEDE Seite Deines Buches! Als ich erwähnte, daß wir versucht hatten, das Buch auf deutsch zu drucken, aber ohne Erfolg, sagte sie: "Oh, ich mag es auf englisch, es hilft mir, die Sprache besser zu lernen!!" Also, wann hast Du gesagt, kommst Du nach Berlin?? Neugierige Leute wollen das wissen! Wir beten, daß der Herr euch beide, Dich und Jason Upton hierher bringt - Berlin und ganz Europa brauchen in der Tat DRINGEND die Botschaft vom Vaterherzen. Deutschland wurde "Das Vaterland" genannt, aber es ist aus verschiedenen Gründen jetzt "Das Vaterlosenland". Tatsächlich habe ich gerade gestern einen Artikel gelesen (klicke hier (englisch)), der sagt, daß Deutsche zum größten Teil keine Babys bekommen wollen, so daß jetzt ihre Bevölkerungszahl abnimmt. Es ist so traurig - ich sprach gestern mit einem 8-jährigen Mädchen, das nicht an Gott glaubt! Ich war schockiert, daß ein so junges Kind schon Atheist sein kann. Es gibt große Bedrückung und Hoffnungslosigkeit in diesem Land, auch in der Kirche. Unsere einzige Hoffnung ist JESUS! Letzten Monat, bin ich persönlich durch große Kämpfe gegangen, aber heute morgen ermutigte mich der Herr mit diesem Abschnitt aus Habakuk 3: "Denn der Feigenbaum blüht nicht , und an den Reben ist kein Ertrag. Der Ölbaum versagt seine Leistung, und die Terrassengärten bringen keine Nahrung hervor. Die Schafe sind aus der Hürde verschwunden , und kein Rind ist in den Ställen. - Ich aber, ich will in dem HERRN frohlocken, will jubeln über den Gott meines Heils. Der HERR, der Herr, ist meine Kraft. Den Hirschen gleich macht er meine Füße, und über meine Höhen läßt er mich einherschreiten.

Eines noch, wie viel würde es kosten, eine Kiste mit Deinen Büchern geschickt zu bekommen, so daß wir sie verteilen können?
